Blue Ridge Autism Center Summer PLUS Program 2008 YOU CHOOSE THE WEEKS! June 23, 2008-August 7, 2008 Mondays-Thursdays 9:00AM-1:00PM This is our third year for this program and it has been hugely successful for both children with autism and those without! This summer camp is developed by BRAC for children with autism. So how can it be GREAT for your child? Typical peer models (your children), ages 3-14, love the interactive play, crafts, music, field trips, pet therapy, etc. They also learn about children with challenges and how to love and accept them as God intends. Each class is divided according to age and includes 4-6 typical peer models and two to three children with autism who have one on one “coaches.” We had 42 typical peer models attend the Summer PLUS program last summer! There are 7 scheduled weeks and your child/ren can attend all seven weeks or just choose one or a few. We just ask that you sign up by the deadline for planning purposes. Activity Fee is $20 per week for each child participating. Payment must be included with application. Applications due May 23, 2008. *NOTE: New activities this summer TENTATIVE Summer Plus Schedule: Every day we will include the following: board games outdoor activities snack & lunch art activities And field trips one day a week! Week 1: June 23-June 26 Sports Week Field Trip – Bowling Week 2: June 30-July 3 Space Week Field Trip – Pump It Up Week 3: July 7-July 10 Winter Wonderland Week Field Trip – Art Museum Week 4: July 14-July 17 Safari Week Field Trip - Zoo Week 5: July 21-July 24 Carnival Week Field Trip – Farm Week 6: July 28-July 31 Under the Sea Week Field Trip – Swimming Week 7: August 4 - August 7 Team Spirit Week Field Trip – End of Summer PLUS bash!
